Appeal, Discipline and Conduct Committees Formed

Amman, September 15 – The Jordan Basketball Federation (JBF) has announced the formation of its Appeal Committee and Discipline and Conduct Committee, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop institutional work and strengthen the legal and regulatory framework of the game.

The Federation has appointed former MP and lawyer Qais Ziadin as Chairman of the Appeal Committee, with lawyers Salah Meles and Zaid Al-Masri as members. Lawyer Mohammad Barakat Al-Hayassat has been appointed Chairman of the Discipline and Conduct Committee, with lawyer Ruba Nassar and lawyer Abdulrahman Al-Tahrawah serving as members.

JBF Vice President Saad Bani Hani said: “Jordan Basketball is entering a new phase, during which we are working to build a clear and modern institutional framework based on transparency and fairness, while ensuring strong legal and regulatory structures that protect the game and safeguard the rights of all its stakeholders.”

He added that the Federation is currently working, in cooperation with the chairmen of both committees, to redraft and develop the regulations and bylaws governing their work, which will be published through the Federation’s official channels upon completion.

Appeal Committee Chairman Qais Ziadin said: “We will ensure that the committee operates independently and impartially, with its decisions based on the applicable regulations and instructions, ensuring proper procedures and safeguarding the rights of all parties.”

Discipline and Conduct Committee Chairman Mohammad Barakat Al-Hayassat said: “Our goal is to establish a culture of discipline and responsibility. Discipline is not intended as punishment for its own sake, but rather to protect the game and provide a fair sporting environment that respects everyone’s rights.”

In forming its committees, the Federation also took into consideration the representation of women and youth, reflecting its commitment to strengthening women’s participation and providing young talents with opportunities to contribute to the development of Jordanian basketball.
