Bufford Naturalized the “Jordan Falcons”
Amman, August 20 – The Jordan Basketball Federation has completed the official procedures for naturalizing American player Byrne Bufford and granting him Jordanian citizenship, as part of the Federation’s efforts to strengthen the roster of the Jordan Men’s National Team with players capable of making the required technical contribution in the upcoming competitions.
Bufford arrived in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan yesterday, while the Federation, in coordination with the Jordan Olympic Committee, is working to explore the possibility of the player joining the “Jordan Falcons” at the 2026 Asian Games – Nagoya, subject to the applicable regulations and instructions, as well as the completion of the relevant technical and administrative requirements.
The Chairman of the Federation’s Interim Committee, Mr. Yazan Al-Muasher, affirmed that strengthening the national teams with players capable of making a difference, alongside continuing efforts to develop the Jordanian basketball system, represents a key priority for the Federation during the upcoming phase.
Al-Muasher said: “We are working according to a clear vision aimed at developing our national teams and raising their level of readiness in line with the importance of the upcoming competitions,” stressing that the next phase requires the collective efforts of all stakeholders within the Jordanian basketball system.
