BASKETBALLERS HEAD TO TAIWAN FOR WILLIAM JONES CUP
Jordan have concluded their training sessions and have headed to Taiwan for the 45th William Jones Cup from August 14-23.
Led by Spanish head coach Luis Guil Torres, the tournament serves as an important preparatory for major upcoming events including the fourth window of the second round of the Asian Qualifiers for the 2027 World Cup atb the end of the month.
Following the Taiwan tournament, Jordan will play The Philippines and Australia on August 28 and 30 in the Philippine capital, Manila, as part of Group E, before heading to participate in the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.
The national team begun its preparations on July 17 under the leadership of assistant coaches Nayef Asfour and Spaniard César Cámara Pérez, under the direct supervision of the head coach.
Training focused on elevating physical, technical fitness levels, alongside implementing tactical plans the technical staff intends to adopt moving forward.
Joining the coaching team are Spanish performance analyst, Ignacio Rodríguez, team manager, Abdulhadi Salameh, fitness coach, Ahmad Samir, physiotherapist, Anas Jarajreh, technical director for national team programmes, Marwan Maatouq, director of national teams, Mohammad Al-Dabbas.
The roster of departing players includes Ahmad Al-Dwairi, Mohammad Shaher, Ahmad Al-Hamarsheh, Fadi Ibrahim, Amin Abu Hawwas, Saifeddine Saleh, Hadi Al-Shami, Abdullah Olajuwon, Malek Kanaan, Omar Salman, Yousef Dweik, Yazan Al-Taweel, Yousef Abu Wazaneh and Rouhi Al-Kilani, with naturalised player Jaylen Harris joining the Falcons' delegation in Taiwan.
