Zane Najdawi Suspended Domestically and Internationally

Amman, October 9 – The Jordan Basketball Federation’s Board of Directors has decided to refer player Zane Najdawi’s case to the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee, which subsequently issued a decision to suspend him from participating in all local and international competitions. The decision comes after the player’s repeated refusal to represent the Jordanian men’s national basketball team.
The Federation emphasized that representing the national team and carrying the Jordanian flag is both a national duty and a great honor that must not be taken lightly. The player’s failure to fulfill this responsibility constitutes a clear breach of national duty and sporting discipline.
The Federation reiterated that playing for the national team is not merely an assignment, but a privilege and a symbol of loyalty and devotion to the country, requiring the utmost commitment to represent Jordan with pride and integrity.
Furthermore, the Jordan Basketball Federation affirmed that it will not hesitate to take firm action against any similar behavior in the future, in order to safeguard the national duty, uphold professional conduct, and protect the integrity and reputation of Jordanian basketball.
