JBF Unveils Leadership Team to Pioneer New High-Performance Era

AMMAN, JORDAN - The Jordan Basketball Federation today announced the appointment of a distinguished, multidisciplinary leadership team to helm its newly established High-Performance Structure. This strategic initiative marks a transformative step in the Federation's long-term vision to elevate Jordanian basketball to elite international standards, cultivate a sustainable talent pipeline, and achieve consistent excellence on the global stage across both 5x5 and 3x3 disciplines.
The new structure brings together a curated team of renowned local and international experts, each selected for their proven passion for sport development and excellence. This team will be responsible for implementing a holistic, integrated system overseeing every facet of organizational development, performance excellence, athlete and coach development, from grassroots to the senior national teams.

The inaugural leadership team of the JBF High-Performance Structure comprises:
High Performance & Development Directors:
Marwan Matouk – Director of Domestic Development. Will focus on enhancing coach education, league excellence, grassroots programs, and talent identification nationwide.
Makoto Mamiya – Technical Director, 5x5 & 3x3 | Assistant Coach, Senior Men’s National Team. Charged with implementing a unified technical philosophy, system and curriculum for all national teams and pathways, ensuring strategic alignment across all formats of the game.
Nour Kayal – High Performance Director, Girls. Head Coach- Cadet Women’s (U16) National Team- Tasked with identifying & developing talent and building a comprehensive, equitable pathway for female athletes & coaches from youth to senior levels. Responsible for preparing the next U16 Girls NT for International Competition
National Team Coaching:
Nayef Assfour – Head Coach, Senior Women’s National Team | Assistant Coach, Senior Men’s National Team. A strategic leader tasked with building a competitive Senior Women’s program while continuing his work supporting the senior men's national team.
Haitham Tleib – Head Coach, Junior Men’s National Team. Responsible for developing the next generation of elite male talent and instilling our cohesive national style of play in preparation for 2026 Asia Cup and 2027 U19 World Cup.
Performance Support & Development Infrastructure:
Fadi Yaghmour – Director, Lead Coach, Jordan Basketball Performance Centers - Will lead and oversee the operational, strategic and basketball development of the Jordan Basketball Performance Centers as the central hub for elite athlete preparation.
Leagues, Operations & Administration:
Tayseer Saadeh – Director of League, Officials and Club Administration. Will oversee the administration of domestic leagues, manage club relations, and lead the education and development of officiating across Jordan.
Mohammed Dabbas – Director of Basketball Operations. Will ensure the seamless integration, operation and daily execution of all high-performance programs and national team logistics. Will build develop and manage the growth of team managers across all 5x5 and 3x3 National teams and support talent integration initiatives into all programs.
Business, Finance & Media:
Moumen Abbadi – Director of Media and Business Operations. Charged with amplifying the JBF's brand nationally & globally, managing the the JBF’s digital presence and assisting in securing strategic partnerships, and driving commercial growth.
Sara Kiswani – Administrator. Will provide critical administrative and financial management for all high-performance activities, ensuring operational efficiency and fiscal responsibility.
Essam Assaf – Finance Manager. Responsible for overseeing all financial planning, budgeting, and reporting within the High-Performance structure.
Khaled Omeri – Manager- Media and Social Media - responsible for managing JBF media presence, including creating, scheduling, and publishing content across social media platforms, coordinating with media outlets, monitoring engagement, and ensuring consistent branding and communication to enhance visibility and audience interaction.
International Performance Consultants:
Dr Craig Slaunwhite – High Performance Consultant. Provides strategic oversight and global best practices to align and drive all performance elements in strength and conditioning, sport science and medical.
Dr. Brian Shaw – Mental Performance Consultant. Will embed mental skills training across all programs, preparing athletes for the psychological demands of elite competition.
This team will operate within a unified framework, ensuring synergy between technical philosophy, league operations, youth and senior programs, and on-court performance with off-court support services. Key focus areas include athlete support and development at all ages, community building from the Grassroots to the top level of international competition, advanced performance analytics, sports science integration, systematic coach and officials development, and strategic competition planning. The team will be growing and continue looking to fill the needs of the system in this development stage. We are just getting started!
