15 Players to Our Men’s National Team Squad in Preparation for the International Beirut Cup

Amman, July 21, 2025 – The delegation of Jordan’s men’s national basketball team, the “Nashama Falcons,” departed this morning for Beirut, Lebanon, in preparation for their participation in the prestigious International Beirut Cup, set to take place later this week featuring top regional teams.
This tournament serves as a key preparatory event ahead of our upcoming campaign at the FIBA Asia Cup in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, scheduled from August 5 to 17. It aligns perfectly with our strategic vision to develop a new generation of talented players.
Jordan’s 15-man roster for the Beirut Cup includes: Freddy Ibrahim, Malek Kanaan, Fadi Qarmash, Abdullah Olaguan, Rouhi Kilani, Ali Kanaan, Yazan Taweel, Saif Al-Din Saleh, Dar Tucker, Abdulrahman Olaguan, Ahmed Al-Hamarsha, Hashim Abbas, Khaled Abu Abud, Fares Mashrebsh, and Ashraf Al-Hindi. The team is under the leadership of Canadian Head Coach Roy Rana, with support from German Lead Asst-Assistant Coach Henrik Rodl, Japanese Asst Coach-chief of Staff Coach Makoto Mamiya, National Assistant Coach Nihad Madi, Head Video Coordinator Dr. Zaid Al-Battikhi, Strength & Conditioning Coach Ahmed Sameer, and Team Manager Mohammad Al-Dabbas.
Head Coach Roy Rana told the Jordan Basketball Federation’s official website:
“We are excited about the young group we are bringing to the Beirut Cup. The future of Jordanian Basketball will be on display and we know winning games against 3 quality teams will not be easy. We are thankful to the Lebanese Basketball Federation for providing us with 3 great preparation games for Asia Cup. As an organization we are aligned on our future vision for our Falcons and this is the start of new cycle that will require many players as we strive to get to the World Cup in 2027”.
He added,
“In regard to our players who will not be with us in Beirut. It is with tremendous respect and appreciation for Mohammed Shaher, Amin Abu Hawwas, and Ahmed Al-Dwairi, and their many years of service, that we will continue to support them through our new high performance team led by Dr. Craig Sloanwhite and Dr. Brian Shaw . We hope that they will be able to return in time for the Asia Cup but whatever the situation ahead, we are excited for the future and will continue to build a new culture of excellence in all areas of Jordanian Basketball”.
He concluded,
“The journey is never easy and the rewards often do not come fast, but the Climb is always more satisfying when you overcome adversity through growth”.
Jordan begins their Beirut Cup campaign tomorrow evening at 9:00 PM local time against Lebanon. They will then face Egypt at 6:00 PM on Thursday, with the final game scheduled against Iran on Friday at the same time.
